Set the Centerpiece Right

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and you just found out you are hosting it this year. Are you ready? If not, no worries. Today, I am going to show you different ways you can style your dining table.

Every home will experience Thanksgiving differently. Some will host a large party that flows into the living room for Football watching, others may host a small gathering of friends. For our family, we plan to go to my sister-in-laws with a larger group but usually it is just the 4 of us around the table.

No matter the size of your party or how you are entertaining Thanksgiving this year, here are some ideas on styling your centerpiece based on your table size.

Round Dining Small (4-6 people)

Use a large table cloth or runner to center the design.

Stick to small numbers in the centerpiece such as 1 or 3 items. That way it leaves room for the food.

Round Dining Large (6-8 people)

With more room, the center piece can scale up in size or quantity (like 3 or 5 items).

Candles miscellaneously placed add a romantic cozy feel.

Rectangle Dining Small (4-6 people)

Use the shape of the table for styling.

Include greenery throughout the centerpiece for the final touches.

Use varying heights.

Rectangle Dining Large (8-10+ people)

Symmetry helps with larger tables.

Balance each end with similar heights or sizes of accessories.

Larger tables add to a more formal affair.

Make it personal with place cards.

Buffet style/Potluck

Incorporate the design throughout the table.

Use varying heights with the food as well as the decor.

Place cards help for others to see and add a personal touch.

No matter how you are celebrating Thanksgiving this year, whether it is a small gathering or a big group around the tv, I hope you get the chance to relax and enjoy your day.

Thank you for all the love and support.
